Butterfly Mug

The butterfly on this mug is sculpted, not printed. The body and wings stand proud of the white earthenware, so you feel the ridges under your thumb before you notice the color — teal, deep blue, green, lavender, cream and a blush pink running out along the wing bars.

The wings wrap the whole way round, which means there is no back to this mug and no wrong way to set it down. The handle is glazed the same teal as the wing edges. The shape is a squared-off barrel rather than a straight cylinder, so it sits solidly and holds a generous 17 ounces.

At 4.03" across and 3.78" tall it is a two-hands-around-it morning mug rather than a dainty one, and it is dishwasher safe, so it can be the one that actually gets used.
